Aftermath of "Little Goose and Ellie Wu" at 2025 Australia Taiwan Film Festival

Under the theme of "Protection, Understanding and Transformation", the film explores the emotional relationship between mother and daughter and their journey of growth in the film "Little Goose and Alice Wu". Through acting classes, the characters learn to face trauma, understand emotions, and ultimately choose love over hate, leading to the possibility of a new start.

The songs and regrets in the film have now become precious souvenirs in my heart. Those brief moments of listening and understanding, like the melodies of the guitar and piano in the film, accompanied me through those years I temporarily called youth. The regrets that I only understood back then are now the bravest and most sincere blessings, timeless and profound.

Taiwan as Seen through the Millenium Comic Wave: Changes and Expectations under the Dance of Time

千禧漫波

Watching Millennium Waves at the Sydney Opera House in Australia was my first encounter with this production on the big screen. Through Shu Qi's portrayal of Vicky, I witnessed the chaos and agitation of Taiwan around the millennium, and mirrored the struggles, choices and growth of Taiwanese people through time. The smoke, tunnels and snow symbolise relationships, egos and colonised memories, while Vicky's transformation echoes my hopes for Taiwan's future - may we all learn to step out of our confusion, just as she has done, to embrace the beauty and freedom of the future with gusto.
